Mission Statement

The mission of the Dalai Lama Foundation Canada is to advance education for ethics and peace in formal and non-formal learning environments throughout Canada. The Dalai Lama Foundation is an international organization established with the endorsement of the Dalai Lama. We share his principles of compassion and respect with a perspective that is secular and inclusive. Our focus is fourfold:

*To provide and produce materials for the teaching of ethics and peace in elementary, secondary, and post-secondary schools.

**To offer forums for teachers-in-training to explore their role in nurturing the seeds of ethics and peace in their future students.

***To educate the public on our collective capacity for ethics and peace through lectures, study circles, online resources, and cultural and artistic initiatives.

***To collaborate with educational, cultural, artistic, and professional organizations to promote a culture of peace endowed with an ethics of compassion, community, and nonviolence.
