Storming onto the scene in 2005 with their debut album Silent Alarm, Bloc Party spent 69 weeks on the UK’s top album charts. The record which included the singles “Banquet” and “Helicopter” raced up the charts in 17 countries around the world, was declared Album of the Year by NME Magazine and went on to sell one million copies worldwide.
Bloc Party’s latest album Intimacy is fittingly titled for a CD that is immediately in-your-face and in-your-ears. Bloc Party’s third album is a thrillingly radical record.
Released on October 27th, Intimacy was produced by Paul Epworth, who produced Bloc Party’s 2005 debut Silent Alarm, and by Garrett ‘Jacknife’ Lee, who produced the follow-up, 2007’s A Weekend In The City, and mixed by Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, amongst others).
This will mark Bloc Party’s third visit to Montreal in the last 18 months as they performed at the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival in 2007 and to a sold out Metropolis last September.
