Gillett Entertainment Group is pleased to announce the return of the 12-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys to the Bell Centre on February 28th.
Alicia’s returns with her long-awaited fifth studio album, The Element of Freedom, set for worldwide release today, December 15. On this album, she showcases her songwriting and producing talents on all 14 tracks, joining musical forces on several tracks for some key collaborations. The Element of Freedom features Keys soulfully soaring solo version of “Empire State of Mind (Part II) Broken Down,” a beat-driven duet with Beyoncé on “Put It In A Love Song,” “Un-thinkable (I’m Ready)” with background vocals provided by Drake, the reggae-tinged “Love is My Disease,” a 80’s funk jam “This Bed” and more sonic gems. The album features production by Alicia Keys, her longtime collaborator Kerry “Krucial” Brothers, Jeff Bhasker, Swizz Beatz, and Noah “40” Shebib.
Since the 2001 debut of Songs In A Minor, the New York native has built an unparalleled repertoire of hits and accomplishments with over 24 million albums sold worldwide! Songs In A Minor, which spawned her signature hit “Fallin,” sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and garnered five Grammy Awards including Best New Artist and Best R&B Album. Alicia’s follow-up disc, 2004’s The Diary of Alicia Keys, captured four Grammy Awards and featured the hits “If I Ain’t Got You,” “You Don’t Know My Name,” and “Karma.” With the 2005 release of Unplugged, which has sold 2 million copies, Keys became one of the few female artists to have three consecutive #1 debuts on the Billboard 200 album chart in as many releases. Alicia’s 4th album As I Am became her 4th #1 debut on the charts and also reached #1 in Japan, South Africa, and Switzerland, selling 5.6 million albums. On top of all the Grammys, Alicia has won 3 World Music Awards, 3 MTV EMA’s, and a MOBO Award. The Element of Freedom will prove that the sky is the limit and this is still only the beginning for Alicia Keys as she solidifies her position as the preeminent singer/songwriter/producer of her generation!
