CANADIENS-NORDIQUES ALUMNI

 
 (Québec, Tuesday, December 15, 2009) – In order to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Nordiques’ debut season in the NHL and to relive the greatest rivalry in Quebec’s sporting history, Gillett Entertainment Group is proud to present the Home-and-Away Series CANADIENS ALUMNI vs. NORDIQUES ALUMNI. On Saturday, March 13th at the Colisée Pepsi and Sunday, March 14th at the Bell Centre, fans of both legendary clubs will have the opportunity to reconnect with the passion that marked a generation of hockey fans. It will also be a unique chance for younger fans to discover the heroes of yesterday’s game, while long-standing followers will be able to travel back in time alongside their idols, including: Guy Lafleur, Peter Stasny, Larry Robinson, Michel Goulet, Guy Carbonneau, Alain Côté, Stéphane Richer, Réal Cloutier, Vincent Damphousse, and many more… One dollar from every ticket sold will go to the alumni associations of each team.

During this exciting series, fans will be thrown into the intensity of this historic rivalry as Michel Bergeron and Jean Perron/Jacques Demers guide their respective teams and the former game presenter of the Nordiques, Pierre Gingras, announces the game in Quebec. For younger fans, both mascots Youppi! and Badaboum will be on-hand.

These two teams met on December 7, 2008 at the Colisée Pepsi and the Nordiques Alumni won the game by a score of 8 to 5 in front of more than 14,000 electrified fans.
